Halloween Sonnet

Halloween is fun, festive, spooky, it

is my favorite time of the year; being

my birthday, observing daily, misfit

haunted houses offer creepy and scary

     seeing

dressing up in costumes, to help ward off

evil spirits, crossing veil's thinness

children go bobbing for apples; runoff

into trick or treating, with a hipness

picking, carving, and transforming pumpkins

into lit jackolaterns, flickering

its shadows wherever they fall, Lumpkins

black cats, rats, and bats always bickering

mothers making pumpkin pies, from insides

wanting it to last forever with upsides.
