Peru

Peru While in Peru our captain orders were not to get any tattoos or even be drunk twenty-four hours before our departure. I got a half-angel and half-demon tattoo meaning good and evil is only through self-perception. I got drunk our last night of liberty, there. Fellow sailor of mine who was French-Peruvian I met, ate, and drank with his parents, siblings, and other family members    at a local restaurant. Danced for hours at their finest dance clubs. Drank, ate local, American foods and drinks especially enjoyed trying Patron for the     first time and absolutely loving it's taste. Swam in their crystal clear ocean's water equator's harsh humidity and heat gave me frequent bloody noses and made it     extremely hard for me to breathe. As daybreak began  heaving to the lines that bound us to the Earth we sailed off to a new adventure.

Bulgaria by Eric Shelman

Bulgaria While in Bulgaria our ship met and moored in with what seemed as one hundred jellyfish at ocean's surface. Some fellow sailors told me that they wouldn't swim here with all the jellyfish fearing possibilities of being stung I told them that I would still swim in it either way. Went swimming in their three gorgeous crystal clear water ocean's beach fronts. Actually stepped on a fish but I never saw it just felt it, whatever it was didn't sting me. Visited exotic dancers clubs. Drank, ate local and American foods and drinks. Enjoyed viewing their majestic and serene sunrises, sunsets, moonrise and moonsets. As daybreak began  heaving to the lines that bound us to the Earth we sailed off to a new adventure.

Dubai by Eric Shelman

Dubai While in Dubai Learned how to haggle after paying way too much for two necklaces with crosses on them. Haggled for an alabaster stone statue of Ganesh and a stone egg. Viewed the only seven-star hotel from a far because it was fifty U.S. dollars to go inside and look around and even more to stay the night there, which is in a shape of a sailboat. Unfortunately I didn't go to their World Famous water parks, even though I wanted too immensely go. Had duck curry at a Thai restaurant there however the duck was minced so tiny I couldn't even taste them over the  overwhelming curry taste, which dissatisfied me, because I thought I was going to have big chunks of ducks, not super small ones. Saw their fake snow resort area inside one of their malls, where you could, go skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. Looked and stared puzzledly at a whole lot of unfinished buildings there  I asked why they were unfinished my taxi driver said that lots of contractors come here to build and m

Kuwait by Eric Shelman

Kuwait By Eric Shelman While in Kuwait our ship dropped off nine-hundred Marines on their LCUs and a few on the pier I helped with these operations later on we returned to retrieve them and dropped them off again due to Mosque being blown up in Iraqi. Since it was a harzardous combat zone we had no liberty whatsoever on or off the base but only on the pier and our ship. Instead we painted a side of the ship it was so hot that the paint melted on the roller and peeled off as we painted it. Boredom and agitation took over as l tried and continuously failed at painting our ship. My mind kept thinking about everything else besides wasting my time on wasting paint and only having liberty on the pier and our ship. Felt like an unsatisfied and restricted prisoner on our ship and the pier. Our ship had beer on the pier, with a grilled hamburgers, steaks, hotdogs, and lobsters. Had a steel beach picnic on the aft part where we had movies playing on a pulled down screen with a projector with mor

Bahrain, by Eric Shelman

Bahrain By Eric Shelman While in Bahrain  my liberty was only on their base where I watched and listened to a U.S.A. Navy Band of musicians and a few singers Playing patriotic American songs and U.S.A. Navy cadences I sang back in boot camp as I marched around with my division who were actually truly excellent these songs and candeces kept me entertained for a short amount of time. as I drank and ate local and American food  truly hoping that my liberty allowed me to find something to do off base Our ship had beer on the pier, with a grilled hamburgers, steaks, hotdogs, and lobsters Had a steel beach picnic on the aft part where we had movies playing on a pulled down screen with a projector with more grilled foods and some cooked foods from our galley. As daybreak began heaving to the lines that bound us to the Earth we sailed off to a new adventure. actually I enjoyed this better than sitting on base all day, night, and not doing anything Felt like a prisoner on base because I had no

Panama by Eric Shelman

Panama By Eric Shelman While in Panama on our ship's Anchor Detail, I manned the anchor brake and was a rigger as I watched the water rise and fall in each lock, horizon, and the clouds for six hours boredom and hunger set in  my excitement came about because l knew at some point we would moor to their port would finally be free on liberty to drink local wines, beers, liquors, and American domestic beers consume local and American foods walk around aimlessly go to exotic dancers clubs see whatever sights they had to offer  having fun distracting myself from this wretchful madness our ship was completely vulnerable due being stuck without any way to maneuver. frequently had bloody noses every five minutes due to heat, humidity, and being on the equator. Extremely hard to breathe because the humidity was horrendous. Soaking in my own sweat just from standing still outside for ten minutes. Everywhere was extremely clean with no litter or trash anywhere because they took their trash ou

My Happiness

My Happiness Comes and flees on its own accords occurs as I read and write plenty hoards     of books and especially poetry. Happens, as I swim in the ocean breaking waves and wakes as they crash into me changing my motion's     notions. Exists, as I hang out and talk to my nieces     nephews, in which I consider my unborn     children      always offer their pieces of peace to me. Materializes, while listening to my favorite      musicians jamming out while helping me escape my mind's messed up      mentalities, savoring it distracting me, which makes me smile. Reaching it, as I collaborate with wonderful      like and unlike minded creators merging our genius' together as a labrithian      crater constructing a truly phenomenal literary      colorful masterpiece. Dialoguing about everything with anyone       who wants to, especially my friends, family, siblings by whatever means ends subject, we are conversing with everyone.

My Insanity by Eric Shelman

My Insanity Speaks to me of my delusional grands. Tells me I am worth less than ocean's       sands. Murkys up my mind's mentalities      certainties. Keeps me indecisive, which gives me      uncertainties. Teaches me to doubt absolutely everything. Voices yell different thoughts into my mind      about absolutely anything. Forces me not to ever like myself. Constantly debating, answering my      multiple-selves. Sticks and drowns me in a miserable      depressive, paranoid, anxious state. Allows me slippery sights of euphoric      greats. Makes me feel sad, mad, and occasionally      glad. Continously illustrates how much I am of a      failure, and deadbeat lad. Censors my creative creations. Never-ceasingly killing my motivations. My wanting to overcome my insanities       are not always in my consciousness'       choice control.

My Inner Beast.

My Inner Beast My inner beast  occasionally must feast  on greased meat and risen yeast vegetables, and driving ceased finest      brewer's yeast. Brutally epic intellectual discourses Neanderthals evolutionary courses complete and utter nonsensical fairy tales Biased and preconceived notions of balances weight and scales certain peoples imaginary beings sales doomsayers and apocalyptic preppers      ideals insanities, make it feel like isolated and       forgotten lepers. pleasurable and painful things, dings, pings!
