Peru

 Peru

While in Peru

our captain orders were not to get any tattoos or even be drunk twenty-four hours before our departure.

I got a half-angel and half-demon tattoo

meaning good and evil is only through self-perception.

I got drunk our last night of liberty, there.

Fellow sailor of mine who was French-Peruvian

I met, ate, and drank with his parents, siblings, and other family members

   at a local restaurant.

Danced for hours at their finest dance clubs.

Drank, ate local, American foods and drinks

especially enjoyed trying Patron for the

first time and absolutely loving it's taste.

Swam in their crystal clear ocean's water

equator's harsh humidity and heat gave me

frequent bloody noses and made it

extremely hard for me to breathe.

As daybreak began

heaving to the lines

that bound us to the Earth

we sailed off to a new adventure.
